Chapter 1      “You all take care of yourselves, right?”

Chapter 2               Tawanda couldn’t even rouse a good “damn.” 

Chapter 3       ‘You shouldn’t be out here.’

Chapter 4                                 “Tawanda Powers! What the hell are you doing out here?”

Chapter 5                                                                                                                                            recollection didn’t register till a week later

Chapter 6                                                                                        she’d jaggered the flow [till] lining up right to the end, all sweet and tidy.

Chapter 7                   “You mind telling me where you’re going and what you’re up to now?”

Chapter 8                                                       ‘You just don’t tell people you want to build a lighthouse.’

                               Tawanda had guts. You had to give her that.

Chapter 9                                              I’m not saying it’s too good to be true. It’s good, though, real good.”

Chapter 10         The call came when

                                 “At least I can leave a message for my editor.”

Chapter 11                          ‘If you love something so, if that something is you, why would you give it up?’

Chapter 12       ‘Risk it! Risk it! What can you lose?’

Chapter 13                                                                     ‘That’s what I’ve always wanted.’

                             “But this doesn’t make sense,” her inspector grimaced.

                             “I don’t care how most people go about it. Just help me look at Plan A, Plan B.”

Chapter 14      But who could’ve predicted the fire. 

Chapter 15                                                                                                                                 “Wrong script!”

Chapter 16                         craigslist ... So easy, wasn’t it

Chapter 17                                                                                                                                                            ‘Who could be here at this hour?’

Chapter 18      ‘you’ve caught me on a really good day’

                                                                        She was on her way.

                                                                                                              letting Tawanda know what was good for her. 

Chapter 19      ‘I should have told him. I should have told him.’

                             “Manny gets the Kermie towel!”

Chapter 21                                                                                        “Life’s messy. This is no big deal.”

                              The plan worked.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  We lucked out there, Kid
