OK, Sandy, I need a sequel! I am so rooting for Tawanda and Ranscom and Manny, Pfifer, Ben and Chris/Charles!! And the lighthouse! Oh, and don't forget Scout! You really managed to create some wonderful characters, and I hated coming to the last page, which is about the biggest compliment I can pay a book. Tawanda, of course, is something else--so complex in her prickly independence, intelligence, self-awareness, and spontaneity. Lots of other adjectives I could think of, but overall, a fascinating person (wonder where she gets that?!). The poignancy of her relationship with Chris is especially moving. Ann Patchett, jamoca almond fudge, the south coast, Ukiah heat, biscuit fire--so many points of contact… And I have to ask: were you ever involved in moving a house??
Thanks for a wonderful book! Betty O.
Thank you.
Oh how I appreciate readers! For each who is able to let me know what you thought or felt while reading ... come cyber close here. I want to give you a hug! Your talking with me about my work is such a gift to me. Those who comment for this page or as a Review for any book on amazon, know that authors do loop-d-loops seeing your enjoyment. That's not why we ... not why I write, but sharing the stories so long in my head sure expands on the thrill. Plus, by telling others about favorite reads, you're supporting writers at work. So thanks on behalf of us all. To add a review, or simply to share informally your thoughts or questions about "Alone and Gutsy, at 58" please be in touch. With my appreciation. Sparky
